Aristotle Onassis (1906–1975) was the colorful magnate who, aside from his billion-dollar fortune, was best known for his stormy liaisons with opera singer Maria Callas and former First Lady Jackie Kennedy, whom he married in 1968. Stavros Niarchos (1909–1996), the “Golden Greek” who was Onassis’ main business rival, similarly made his fortune in shipping and later branched out into art collecting and breeding racehorses. Lot of two DS: Partially printed French-language “Embarkation/Disembarkation Card,” 4 x 6, December 12, 1959, filled out by Aristotle Onassis with his personal information and twice signed by him (once in printed block letters); and a similar card, dated May 25, 1958, filled out and twice signed by Stavros Niarchos. In fine condition, with mild toning to both and a few small spots to Niarchos card. R&R COA.
