Cool customer: Pabst issues a promissory note to an ice machine manufacturer

Brewer (1836–1904) who founded the company which, in the 1890s, introduced the “Blue Ribbon” brand, the “beer that made Milwaukee famous.” Promissory note, 8 x 3.5, filled out in another hand and signed by Pabst as “Fred. Pabst, Prest.,” payable to Boyle Ice Machine Company for $10,000, May 17, 1883. In fine condition, with mild scattered toning, usual bank stamps, vertical folds, and clean, inconspicuous punch cancellation (away from signature). R&R COA.
