The first champion under the Queensbury Rules

First gloved heavyweight boxing champion of the world, 1892–1897. He defeated the great John L. Sullivan. Knockout vintage sepia glossy 8 x 10 portrait of Corbett in a jacket and tie, boldly and beautifully signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To my friend H.S. Hera with best regards, Jas. J. Corbett, Apr. 27/30.” In fine condition, with adhesive residue to top edge from previous framing, scattered surface impressions and a few minor creases. PSA/DNA COA & R&R COA.
