Thank you so much for your good wishes.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. In very good condition, with light age and handling wear, small area of paper loss at the bisecting vertical fold, diagonal crease at lower right corner. This note was written during the filming of The Shootist, Wayne’s last film, released in 1976. The film was an epitaph of sorts. In it, he plays an aging gunfighter who is dying of cancer, an illness that Wayne himself succumbed to three years later. PSA/DNA COA and R&R COA.
