Admitted to the bar in 1790, Adams began to practice law that year in Boston. DS, signed “J.Q. Adams,” one page both sides, 8.25 x 6.5, Commonwealth of Massachusetts letterhead, October 10, 1790. In part: “To the Sheriff of our county of Suffolk, we command you to attach the Goods or Estate of William Young of Boston in Said County, Mariner, to the Value of twenty pounds…” Signed twice by “J.Q. Adams” on the reverse. In very good condition, with expected age toning and foxing, repaired separations along the folds with total separation at one fold bisecting one signature.
