William Heath document to Boston Tea Party participant, Thomas Urann

Distinguished Major General in the Continental Army who organized and trained the undisciplined forces at Cambridge before the Battle of Bunker Hill. DS, signed “W. Heath MG,” one page, 7 x 9.5, July 1, 1777. The document reads, in part, “Abstract of one months pay of Sundry artificers employed in the Continental Service from the first of June to the last 1777. By order of General Heath. Thomas Urann Captain…Boston July 1, 1777 - I certify the above abstract to be right cash --. Ebenr. Hancock. Dep.y Paymaster Gen’l. To Ebenezer Hancock Esqr. Deputy paymaster General to the Forces of the United States of America. Sir pay Capt. Thomas Urann two hundred and forty six dollars and two thirds in full of ye wages due to him and artificers under his (command agreeable to the above amount for which this shall be your sufficient warrant given at Head Quarters Boston July 1, 1777 by his honors Command. W. Heath, MG.” Document is also signed by Urann and Major General Seth Laring. Document inlaid to a slightly larger sheet, several horizontal folds and some minor soiling, otherwise fine condition.
