American prizefighter. The son of two former slaves, he was the first African American world heavyweight champion (1908–1915). Bold pencil signature, “Jack Johnson Former Champ,” on a beige 3.5 x 2.25 sheet, affixed to a slightly larger card. In very good condition, with scattered light rippling from adhesive on reverse, a few small areas of trivial soiling not affecting overall presentation.
