Printed signed sketch of the Cat In The Hat on an off-white 5.5 x 8.5 sheet, with Dr. Seuss writing in a balloon bubble over the Cat’s head, “Before this brush got old an’ tired, Dr. Seuss used it in drawing me,” adding “And that’s a fact, Dr. Seuss,” at the bottom. Seuss then has taped the broken brush across the lower portion of the sketch. Consignor notes he acquired the item as is from a children’s benefit auction in Michigan in the early 1980s. Light overall toning, aforementioned scotch tape, a few wrinkles and possibly lightly trimmed edges, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
