DS, signed “George R,” one page both sides, 8 x 12.25, May 1824. Document ordering the examination and transportation of prisoners from the “gaols” to “hulks on the river Thames.” In part: “Our will and pleasure is and we do hereby order and direct that 79 male convicts named in the margin now under sentence…be conveyed on board the hulks in the River Thames…” The prisoners are, indeed, listed in the margins. Very boldly signed “George R” in the upper left corner. In very good condition, with expected toning and folds, a couple of small areas of trivial soiling, a few creases, adhesive residue on the reverse along the border. R&R COA.
