Description

Limited edition Anna Christie, signed by O’Neill

Widely acknowledged as America’s greatest playwright. Among his works are Mourning Becomes Electra (1931) and Long Day's Journey into Night (produced in 1956), for which he was awarded his fourth Pulitzer Prize. He won the 1936 Nobel Prize for literature. Signed book: Anna Christie. NY: Horace Livewright, 1930. Hardcover, 8 x 10.25, 161 pages. Signed “Eugene O’Neill” on the limitations page, which reads, “This special edition of Anna Christie, with twelve illustrations by Alexander King, is limited to 775 numbered copies, of which 750 are for sale. Each copy is signed by the author. This copy is No. 583.” A lovely edition of O’Neill’s play. In very good condition, with some minor wear to the cover’s edge and staining to the inside front and back covers, the original owner’s book plate affixed to the inside front cover and his name is stamped on the second free end page, some toning to pages. R&R COA.
