President Grant writes regarding farm matters, “I since have written to Judge Long who you may advise with concerning farm matters and report progress, receipts expenditures etc.”

ALS as president, one page, 5.5 x 9, Executive Mansion letterhead, November 3, 1873. Letter to a Mr. Carlin regarding farm matters. In full, “Before receiving your letter of the 24th Oct. I had written to you directing my letter to Webster Grove. The letter contained what I would write about now. If you have not yet received that letter you can get it. I since have written to Judge Long who you may advise with concerning farm matters and report progress, receipts expenditures etc.” Double matted and framed with a color portrait of Grant, a transcript of the letter, printed biographical information and a small name plaque, to an overall size of 30.5 x 24.5. Expected folds, scattered light toning and soiling and a small ink spot affecting a couple words of text, otherwise fine condition. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA. Oversized.
