As Operation Barbarossa opens, Brauchitsch as Commander-in-Chief is forced to co-sign and implement Hitler's infamous Commissar Order and Order for Guerilla Warfare which essentially condones the mass extermination of captured Soviet prisoners of war and civilians - an act that haunts him at the Nuremburg Trials. DS, in German, signed “von Brauchitsch,” one page, 9 x 13, March 1, 1941. Military document issued to Dr. Alfred Kroppe signed at the bottom in fountain pen by von Brauchitsch. Document also bears a printed signature of Adolf Hitler. In very good condition, with light creasing and wear to right edge, lightly affecting end of signature and two punch holes to left edge and some light creasing. R&R COA.
