TLS signed “Jack,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, July 13, 1953. A letter to the golfer Ben Hogan. In part: “I didn’t wire you to Scotland as I thought you might be leaving right after the tournament…Your triumph in the British Open was the greatest thing that has happened in sports, and all your friends here at home got a personal ‘kick’ out of it. Am leaving for Honolulu today, but will be back in about a month. Hope to see you then.” In very good condition, with scattered toning, heavier toward the top of the letter, staple holes to top border, horizontal fold grazing a letter of the signature. R&R COA.
