One page unsigned handwritten manuscript, 4 x 6.25, containing eighty words in Washington’s hand from his manuscript entitled Mahomet and His Successors, with several revisions and notations. The text concerns a Muslim’s pilgrimage to Mecca and begins “To promote peace and goodwill among his companions in the caravan, He is, moreover, to be liberal in the donations and charities throughout his pilgrimage. When arrived at some place in the vicinity of Mecca he allows his hair and nails to grow.” Page is affixed by one side to a 7.25 x 10 off-white sheet, which bears several pencil notations.
