Terrific autograph manuscript fragment from “The Water Witch; or the Skimmer of the Seas, a Tale.” Written in ink on both sides of an approximately 8.75 x 1.5 slip with several of the author’s emendations. Cooper’s novel was originally published in Philadelphia in 1831. This excerpt comes from Volume II and begins: “The eye of a seaman is acute in its objectives. . . “ Some show-through of ink on both sides, otherwise fine. R&R COA.
