Queen Victoria pardons a lady for “being Drunk or incapable.”

Queen of Great Britain and Ireland from 1837-1901, her reign was the longest of any monarch in British history and came to be known as the Victorian era. DS, signed “Victoria R. I.,” three sides of two adjoining pages, 8.25 x 13, September 29. Victoria pardons Elizabeth Heenan or McGuire from the remainder of her sentence for “being Drunk or incapable.” The sentence was a one pound fine or fourteen days imprisonment. In good condition, with scattered light toning, including signature area and tape repair and reinforcement to all horizontal folds. R&R COA.
