U. S. Grant and Oliver Howard endorse a citation for “faithful and meritorious service during the war.”

Endorsement on a 3.5 x 7.75 docket panel, taken from a larger document. Text reads, “Washington, May 21 ‘66. Respectfully founded and recommended for faithful and meritorious service during the war.” Signed under the text, “O. O. Howard,” as a Major General and endorsed at the bottom, “U. S. Grant,” as Lieutenant General, with a date of June 22, 1866 written at the bottom. In fine condition. R&R COA.
