Lot of four signed letters from First Ladies includes: an ALS dated February 28 (no year) from Mary Lord Harrison; a TLS from Betty Ford on White House stationery, dated November 14, 1975, which reads, in part: “Jerry loved the spaghetti and had it all eaten by the time we arrived home. I do hope you got your fork and plate back in good condition.” She adds the handwritten postscript: “I only got one bite.”; a TLS from Lady Bird Johnson, signed “Lady Bird,” on White House stationery, dated January 16, 1967, thanking then Washington doyenne Perle Mesta for a leather and suede purse; and another TLS from Mrs. Johnson, also on White House stationery and dated January 18, 1968, again thanking Mesta for an evening bag. The original mailing envelope accompanies one of the Johnson letters. In overall fine condition, with scattered light toning to the Ford and Johnson letters, horizontal folds through the signatures.
