Description

A less than confident Bette Davis writes from Hollywood, “Have been rehearsing for two days - start ‘shooting’ the picture Monday...my part has been changed to make her part sympathetic - really don’t expect to stay - so may see you in March.”

ALS signed “Bette,” two pages, 7 x 11, no date. Davis writes to her friend, updating her progress in her upcoming film. In part, “Have been rehearsing for two days - start ‘shooting’ the picture Monday…my part has been changed to make her part sympathetic - really don’t expect to stay - so may see you in March…The studio is being closed for six weeks after our picture is finished - so that means I’m minus three weeks salary…I’m a little disgusted - but can’t tell things may be better later on…Give Universal office my best if you see them.” In fine condition, with small area of paper loss from staple removal and a light shade of toning. R&R COA.
