Nazi leader. Chancellor of Austria during the Anschluss (1938), he was appointed commissioner for The Netherlands in 1940, where he ruthlessly recruited slave labor. In 1945 he was captured by the Canadians, tried at Nuremberg, and executed for war crimes. Fountain pen signature, “Seyss-Inquart,” on an off-white 4.5 x 3 slip, dated October 7, 1946 (less than two weeks before his execution). Matted with a photo of Seyss-Inquart on trial, to an overall size of 8 x 10. In fine condition, with uneven left edge, notation along bottom and a light shade of toning. R&R COA.
