Desirable ship’s pass signed by Jefferson and Madison

Scalloped-top vellum DS signed by Jefferson as president, “Th: Jefferson,” and Madison as Secretary of State one page, 9.5 x 14.75, December 18, 1806. Ship’s pass issued to “the Schooner Fanny Catharine of New York, John A Burnam Master and Commander of the Burthen Ninety three 66/95 tons or thereabouts, mounted with no guns, navigated with seven men to pass with her Company Passengers, Goods and Merchandise without any hinderence, seizure or molestation. Matted and framed under Plexiglas, with a portrait of Jefferson, a portrait of Madison and three small plaques, to an overall size of 26.25 x 25. In very good condition, trimmed somewhat in size, with scattered mild soiling and toning, worn and stained but intact seal, light wrinkling, several horizontal and vertical folds and portions of handwritten text light, but legible.
