Description

An angry Buffalo Bill takes his ranch hands to task, “When I send him horses to work he must work them and not turn them out because they are wild. When I say I want a thing done - I expect to be obeyed.”

ALS signed “Col.,” two pages, 7.25 x 10, Planters Hotel Company letterhead, May 12. Letter to Mattie and Eli Jernsby at his ranch in Wyoming. Cody expresses some anger that his prior instructions had not been followed. In part, “I want to tell Eli he did not do right when he worked the two stallions…and after this when I send him horses to work he must work them and not turn them out because they are wild. When I say I want a thing done - I expect to be obeyed - and in the future remember that I want my nephew to help and do what he is told to do - but not to cook all the time - I am paying Mattie to do the cooking. This is all.” Matted and framed with a small photo, to an overall size of 21 x 17. Expected mailing folds, some light creases and small separations along folds and a couple light spots, otherwise fine condition. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
