“My right eye has gone and the doc informed me I have a bit Hodgkin disease. You can tell by my writing. I’m very shaky but I still try to make a few birdies.”

Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Snead and Wilson Sporting Goods representative Plug Osbourne, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to Plug and a one page ALS, signed “Sam,” dated April 16, 1984 on his personal letterhead. Snead writes to Osbourne’s widow after learning of his passing. In part, “Also shocked to learn of Plug’s death…My right eye has gone and the doc informed me I have a bit Hodgkin disease. You can tell by my writing. I’m very shaky but I still try to make a few birdies.” Matted and framed with the original mailing envelope, addressed in Snead’s hand, and a small plaque, to an overall size of 25.25 x 21.25. In fine condition, with signature and inscription on photo light but legible. R&R COA.
