Rare William Floyd ALS with military content

The first delegate from New York that signed the Declaration of Independence. Rare ALS signed “Wm. Floyd B. G.,” one page, 6.25 x 8, August 22, 1788. Letter to Colonel John Smith. In full, “His Excellency the Commander in Chief has Directed me to order that the Regiments of my Brigade should not meet at the day I have appointed but that their meeting should be postponed for a fortnight. You'll consider this an order for this meeting on that day fortnight from yours .” In fine condition, with mild offset ink impressions from another document, light toning and expected folds.
