W.E.B. DuBois Letter Regarding The Reprinting of John Brown

Civil rights leader, writer, educator and founder of the NAACP. He inspired and fought for economic, civil, social and political equality for African Americans. TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, W.E. Burghardt Du Bois, Shirley Graham, Thirty-One Grace Court, Brooklyn 1, N.Y. letterhead, December 14, 1960. In full: “Dear Mr. Stanhope: JOHN BROWN is being reprinted by Associated Publishers, 381 Fourth Avenue, New York, 16, New York, although I do not know just when. You might write them direct.” Accompanied by an unsigned photo of Du Bois. In fine condition, with scattered faint creasing, affecting nothing. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
