Letter from Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton

The first secretary of the treasury, helped to stabilize our nation’s finances, became a bitter enemy of Aaron Burr and was killed by him in a duel in 1804. ALS signed “A. Hamilton,” one page, 4 x 4, June 4. Hamilton writes, in full, “Mr. Lear informs me the letter herewith relates to your purchase of debt for the Trustees of the Sinking Fund & at his request I forward it.” Archivally suede matted and framed with a color portrait of Hamilton, to an overall size of 22.5 x 15.
