Lot of four TLSs. Three written as Vice President between 1984-1988, all signed 'George,' to friend and supporter J. Knox McConnell. One sends thanks for a sent book, one sends thanks for a 'contribution to The Fund for America's Future' to fund Republican party candidates, adding 'Thanks my friend,' in his own hand and the last letter sends thanks for birthday wishes and gifts. Last letter is on his personal letterhead, dated September 10, 1993, sending his regrets. In part, 'I hate to have regret for those days in October, but I must. I will be at a big Washington dinner on the 20th...and have a set engagement back in Houston the next day.' In fine overall condition. RRAuction COA.
