Perhaps in an attempt to avoid following in his very famous father's footsteps, Creighton (his actual name) Chaney was at various times a plumber, a meat cutter's apprentice, a metal worker, and a farm worker. He began working in films upon his father's death in 1930. He is the only actor to have portrayed all four of the classic movie monsters: The Wolf Man, The Ghost of Frankenstein (The Frankenstein Monster), The Mummy's Tomb (Kharis, the mummy) and Son of Dracula (Count Anthony Alucard, Dracula's son). Outstanding vintage glossy 8 x 10 1942 Universal publicity portrait, signed and inscribed in fountain pen 'Delta, Luck and Love, Lon Chaney, Jr.' In fine condition, with scattered surface impressions, edge wear, corner bends, a small separation to the top border, a bit of brushing to the large 'L.'
