Description

'In my opinion Richard Nixon should be seen much as the leading character in a Shakespearean Tragedy.'

The first special prosecutor named in the Watergate investigation. ALS, three pages, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, July 11, 2003. Letter to a history teacher answering several letters concerning Richard Nixon. In part, 'You ask 'Did you think that Nixon would try to fire you and what were your feelings after he did?' I was familiar with the rumors that he intended to fire me...In my opinion Richard Nixon should be seen much as the leading character in a Shakespearean Tragedy, an important man of many admirable qualities who destroyed himself by yielding to a fatal character flaw. Nixon's fatal flaw was his unscrupulousness in steering a driving, selfish ambition.' In fine condition. RRAuction COA.
