A very interesting and insightful collection of unsigned musical lyrics and manuscript, originally obtained directly from Paisley Park. Thirty one lined 8.5 x 11 pages still incorporated into a note pad. Opening two pages are handwritten lyrics to the unreleased songs entitled Rhythm Angel and Latino Barbie Doll. Although not much is known about the first song, Latino Barbie Doll was originally written by Prince for one of Sheila E.'s albums. It was recorded in mid-December 1987, with Sheila adding her vocals on December 15th. Years later, in September 1993, the track was pulled out and tried out by Mayte (Prince's wife at the time) for possible use on her album, Child Of The Sun. The remaining twenty nine pages are apparently a complete, yet untitled, screenplay treatment. This treatment may have been written with Sheila E. in mind, as it deals with a female percussionist in search of a recording contract. Story tells of a woman named Raina, who along with her brothers and sisters, are alone and unhappy in their current situation as a club band for the slimy owner James. Raina's main focus is to acquire a record contract from Peppermint Records and to attain a level of popularity she has seen at another club, called the 21 Club. Also woven into the story is her admirer, and future manager, Sylvester, as well as a father who has welched on a drug deal and is now being pursued by several other heavies. Most interesting in these pages are partial lyrics to five songs, with total lyrics to a couple of the songs. Songs are entitled Latino Barbie Doll, Girlpower, Famous, Rhythm Angel and Scarlet Pussy. Price has written all the dialog, character and scene descriptions and small notations of changes. In fine overall condition, with some light handling wear and spotting. RRAuction COA.
