Robert Morris

Financier who funded the American Revolution and was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. ALS signed 'Robt Morris,' on epage both sides, 7.25 x 9, New York City, July 9, 1790. Letter to Robert Gilmore in Baltimore. In part: ' I received your letter of the 15th which came through the Post Office. It is true that ...have not made the arrangements which I expected and I am sorry for it, but it does not follow that I am to deliver Certificates to...when I shall return home and apply my time to my own affairs, and amongst other things, consider of the best ways in my power to give that satisfaction which is due from me to them, respecting which I shall [?] with them, and if necessary with you also, being grantor.' Accompanied by an unsigned image of Morris. In fine condition, with a vertical fold through one letter of the signature, scattered light creasing. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
