Legendary organized crime leader. Lansky was the godfather of the national crime syndicate that emerged in the early 1930s as successor of the warring Prohibition gangs as well as the old-line Mafia. Forming friendships and alliances with Lucky Luciano and Bugsy Siegel, Lansky directed Murder, Inc. Check, 6.25 x 2.75, filled out in another hand and signed by Lansky, payable to Cushing Lyons, Inc., for 120.26, April 12, 1938.
