Frontiersman, politician and folk hero, he become famous for his shrewd and humorous speeches; he was killed at the Alamo. Extremely rare ANS, one page, 8 x 10, April 23, 1834. Crockett pens a wonderful sentiment to a young lady. In full, 'I take great pleasure in recording my name in Miss Octavia Walton's album as a testimonial of my respects for her - Success through life and I hope she may enjoy the happiness and pleasures of the world agreeable to her expectation as all ladys of her sterling worth merits. I am with much respects her obet servt - David Crockett, Washington.'. Some scattered light toning, mostly to left edge and a couple small brushes to a few letters of text, otherwise fine condition.
