Description

Moody was a Protestant evangelist, he decided to devote his life to evangelism. Never ordained, he had a wide influence as a preacher of a simple, conservative, and personal Christianity. Sankey was a noted gospel singer and composer. LS, two pages, 8 x 10, September 11, 1882. Letter to Bigelow and Main, concerning 'Gospel Hymns No. 4,' in regard to royalties for their collaboration on recently written hymns. They wish for part to be sent to the Treasurer of the Mt. Hermon Boys School and part to the Northfield Seminary. Accompanied by two vintage photos of the pair. Boldly signed on the second page by Moody and Sankey. In fine condition, with some minor fold separations, notation to front page and expected folds. RRAuction COA.
