1783-1834. American soldier who served on frontier duty, built the post (now Fort Leavenworth) and commander of the entire southwest frontier. Scarce DS, signed 'H. Leavenworth, Col. Comp., Regt and Post,' one page, 8 x 9.75, May 30, 1818. A requisition for cartridge box belts, bayonet belts and sword belts. In fine condition, with overall light creasing, toning, a couple of small separations at the folds, a small pencil notation. RRAuction COA.
