Description

Aaron Burr

Controversial US vice-president, who killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804. ALS signed 'A. Burr,' one page, 8 x 10, March 4, 1818. Burr writes a short letter to Martha Bradstreet at the bottom of her letter to him. In part, 'I will procure to be drawn for you a Law of your folio pages, if it be your wish - The draught enclosed has, in my opinion, words enough. With proper attention, the act may be passed through both houses in the course of these days.' Burr has also hand addressed the address leaf on the integral second page. In fine condition, with light toning, vertical folds and a few minor fold separations. RRAuction COA.
