First volume is signed and inscribed in fountain pen on the half title page, 'To Eddie Locke, Jr. With kindest regards and great appreciation of his association as Special Assistant to the President, from his good friend Harry Truman, Independence, Dec. 17, 1955.' Second volume is signed and inscribed in fountain pen on the half title page, 'To Eddie Locke, Jr. from Harry Truman, 5/5/56.' Slipcase label for the second volume is also signed and inscribed to Locke by Truman. Both books are in fine condition and showcase excellent signatures. Slipcases show expected surface wear with some partial separation along top edge of one slip case and several small tape repairs to edges. RRAuction COA.
