In full, 'I shall now write you a few lines as Mr. Ridgway has not payed [sic] attention to any of my letters. Mrs. Simpson has delivered your message - and it is not at all satisfactory to one in regard to Mr. R. taken my case - he seems so unsettled about it - however I must know by Wednesday not any later if Mr. B can get my money or not. I am strongly impressed that Mr. R. is going to war, there is no compulsion about his taken [sic] the case - as he has other business on hand, in New York. I think now as he has not been to see me - or taken any intrest [sic] in me as yet - he had better give up the case. He may have more profitable business on hand. I am tired and impatient waiting any longer. I will secure another consul - as I have one in view - and he wants to know immediately to take steps to secure my money and prepare my case for tryal [sic] let me know with fail by Wednesday - otherwise I shall on Thursday secure the other consul. I hope you will understand this distinctly - without further notice.' In fine condition, with a bit of light soiling and some minor separations along mailing folds.
