Description

Considered the father of baseball, Cartwright and his fellow New York Knickerbocker Ball Club members devised the modern rules of the game. Press copy (from the original) of an ALS written from Honolulu, on onion skin paper, ALS signed "A. J. Cartwright," two pages, 8.5 x 10.5, July 16, 1862. Letter from Honolulu to a friend in Massachusetts, Cartwright discusses the prospects for growth in Hawaii in the agricultural industry.
