Reed, in part: "I owe you an apology for not answering your letter of September 23, but I spoke twenty times during the last thirteen days of the Campaign and was totally unable to keep up with my correspondence. I should have been glad to visit Chester had it been in my power, but so much of my time was given to other parts of the country that I could not." In fine condition.
