Description

AQS on an off-white 4.75 x 2.5 slip applied to an ornately-bordered album page, crisply signed at the conclusion, "Oliver Wendell Holmes, Boston, Jan. 28th 1864." Holmes pens a stanza from his poem 'A Voice of the Loyal North,' in full: "Enough of speech! the trumpet rings; / Be silent, patient, calm,— / God help them if the tempest swings / The pine against the palm! (Jan. 4, 1861)." In fine condition.
