Letter to his employee and part-time secretary William Carman, in full: “In compliance with your request I agree to give you an option for three months on the twenty two acres at Menlo Park, New Jersey, at $300.00 per acre. The option to date from December 1st 1909.” Double-matted and framed with a portrait photo of Edison to an overall size of 23.5 x 15.5; the reverse bears a “Property of General Electric Company” label. In fine condition, with light creasing and multiple intersecting folds.
