German-born French-language journalist, art critic, and diplomat (1723-1807) remembered as a contributor to the 'Encyclopédie ou Dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers' and for his interest in opera reform. Partly-printed vellum DS, in French, signed “Grimm,” one page, 7.5 x 5.75, January 13, 1778. A "Perpetual Annuities" receipt, acknowledging receipt of funds from "M. Loiseau de Berenger, General Treasurer of Monseigneur the Duke of Orleans." In fine condition, with a mounting remnant to upper right corner.
