Partly-printed DS as president, signed “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 16.75 x 13.5, May 9, 1910. President Taft appoints Anson C. Merrick as "Postmaster at Walhalla, in the County of Oconee, State of South Carolina." Neatly signed at the conclusion by President Taft and countersigned by Postmaster General Frank H. Hitchcock. The seal affixed to the lower left appears soiled and dampstained but remains intact. Double-matted and framed to an overall size of 23 x 20. In very good to fine condition, with creasing to the top, and lightly-mottled overall toning.
