Partly-printed DS in French, signed twice “Comte Alexis Tolstoi,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 8.25 x 10.75, January 21, 1920. Loan application with the "French-Russian company of loans and advances," in which Tolstoy requests "a total loan of nine thousand francs payable in monthly installments of three thousand francs to enable me only to meet my subsistence needs." Signed on the first page and at the conclusion by Tolstoy. In fine condition.
