Description

Used by Prince during Paisley Park rehearsals for his Act II Tour

Fantastic 'tamboracca' used by Prince during rehearsals at Paisley Park for the 1993 Act II Tour, measuring about 11″ across, featuring a yellow hexagon shape inset with a variation of his iconic purple love symbol. These unusual instruments—essentially maracas in a tambourine form—were originally commissioned by Prince in 1992 and immediately achieved popularity with his fans around the globe. In fine condition. From the collection of Prince's assistant Therese Stoulil and accompanied by a letter of provenance. In 1993, Prince embarked upon his Act I and II Tours with The New Generation to promote the Love Symbol Album. After the Act I leg of the tour in the United States (March 8-April 17), Prince took a two-month hiatus before heading to Europe for Act II (July 26-September 7). A superb and extremely desirable rehearsal-used instrument.
