Handwritten postscript, as president, signed “FDR,” at the bottom of a one page TLS, signed by Roosevelt’s private secretary, M. A. Le Hand, dated March 28, 1933, sending thanks for a gift of maple sugar and reads, in part, “He is sure he will enjoy it even though it comes from a Republican.” Roosevelt writes at the conclusion, “Ever so many thanks!
