Franking signature, “J. Adams” (at lower left) and “Free” (at upper right) on a 5 x 3 envelope panel addressed in another hand to Justus B. Smith in Hamilton County, New York. Shadow box framed with two gold-inlaid, sterling silver portrait plate issued in a limited edition by the Franklin Mint in the early-to-mid 1970s and a small portrait, to an overall size of 35 x 18. In very good condition, with scattered toning and soiling, bisecting vertical fold, slightly irregular edges, and several stray ink marks, one touching first letter of signature.
