In part, “I am writing in the interest of Mr. Lawrence M. Washington…who is most desirous of securing a promotion. Mr. Washington is Head Clerk in the Lock Box Section of the Post Office. I would, therefore, appreciate it very much indeed if you would look into this matter and advise me of his chances for a promotion at this time.” In fine condition, with two horizontal folds and a small staple hole to top left.
