Merchant and statesman from New Hampshire (1726–1790) who was a delegate to the Continental Congress, signed the Continental Association, and served as major general of the New Hampshire Militia during the Revolutionary War. Partly-printed DS, signed “Nath'l Folsom,” one page, 7.5 x 8.25, January 2, 1787. Writ issued in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, in part: "To the Sheriff of the County…you are required to attach the goods or estate of Richard Smith of Exeter Cordwainer to the value of Forty shillings,…so he may be had before me…to answer to Robert Lord of Exeter…in a plea of the case for that the said Richard…promised the plt. to pay him…Eleven shillings in one month." Signed at the conclusion in ink by Nathaniel Folsom as justice of the peace. In very good condition, with singed edges affecting the text, but not the signature.
